Why a colour on screen is not enough
A RAL number on a screen and the same colour as a cured floor are two different things. That has little to do with screen calibration and everything to do with material. A resin floor has depth, a light texture and a level of finish — matt or satin — that determines how much light is reflected. That same colour looks different in a space with plenty of daylight than in an office with artificial light, and different next to oak than next to black joinery.
That is why our partners have a sample wall. Not as a display, but as a working tool: something you can pick up, hold against a sample of the bespoke work and look at by the window.
What hangs on that wall
The sample wall shows the full Cuore range, from warm naturals to pronounced accent shades, in the various systems we produce. Every sample is a real execution of the system — the same build-up, the same finish, the same pigmentation as what will eventually go into the project.
That last point matters more than it seems. We develop and produce our primers, scraping coats, resin flooring compounds and top coats ourselves, in Belgium. Colours are matched in house. A sample is therefore not an approximation of the end result but a piece of that same end result.
Bespoke colour
Our systems are available in all RAL and NCS colours, in matt or satin. That sounds like a detail in a product data sheet, but in practice it changes the conversation completely. The question is no longer “which of these twelve colours comes closest”, but “which colour do you want exactly”.
For architects that means freedom in the design: the floor does not have to be a compromise between the intention and what happens to be available. For our partners it means they can have the conversation about colour with something in their hand, instead of with a catalogue.
And because production is local, the lines stay short. Making a specific shade is not an exceptional procedure taking weeks but part of how we work.
Working with partners
We do not lay floors ourselves. Our products are applied by professional application companies, and it is at those partners that the end customer chooses colour and system. That division of roles only works if the partner has the same material and the same technical knowledge as we do.
That is the reason we invest in sample walls, technical explanation and support — on site as well. The founders of Cuore come from installing resin systems themselves. That practical experience is why we understand which questions are really asked on a site, and why advice is not a side issue for us.
